An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess (Japanese title: Jishou Akuyaku Reijou na Konyakusha no Kansetsu Nikki) is finally making its anime debut this week. It’s a pretty unique take on the “Villainess” genre because instead of seeing everything through the girl’s eyes, the story is told from the perspective of her fiancé, Prince Cecil.
Cecil is basically a genius who is bored with everything because he’s too smart. But then he meets his fiancée, Bertia, who suddenly claims she’s a reincarnated villainess from an otome game and that her goal is to get their engagement cancelled. She’s actually terrible at being “evil” and is mostly just a clumsy, hilarious mess, which Cecil finds absolutely fascinating. It’s being animated by Ashi Productions, who recently did Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion, so the vibe is in good hands.
