The wait is officially over—the anime adaptation of Daemons of the Shadow Realm (Japanese title: Yomi no Tsugai) literally just premiered today! This is the new series from Hiromu Arakawa, the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist, and the hype is through the roof because the "dream team" is back—Studio BONES is handling the animation.
The story follows Yuru, a young hunter living in a remote, isolated mountain village. He spends his days hunting birds and looking after his twin sister, Asa, who is "working" in a jail cell deep in the village. But his peaceful life gets absolutely wrecked when "dragons" (modern fighter jets) attack the village. Yuru discovers that his world is a lie, his "sister" might not be who he thinks she is, and he has the power to summon Tsugai (powerful supernatural pairs)—specifically his two guardians, Left and Right.
