The wait is finally over—Go For It, Nakamura-kun!! (Japanese title: Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!) just started airing after being delayed for like a year. It’s an incredibly sweet, retro-style BL (Boys' Love) rom-com about Nakamura, a super shy high schooler who’s head-over-heels for his classmate Hirose.
The catch? They haven't even spoken yet. Nakamura is a total klutz and overthinks every single interaction, which leads to some hilarious and cringey moments. The art style is the biggest selling point—it looks exactly like an 80s or 90s anime (think Urusei Yatsura vibes), which makes it stand out from everything else airing right now. It's being handled by Studio Drive and directed by Aoi Umeki, who did Pop Team Epic, so the comedic timing is basically perfect.
