After years of fans begging for an adaptation, Studio Madhouse (the team behind Frieren and Kaiji) is finally bringing Shinobu Kaitani’s psychological masterpiece to life. It’s airing as a "two-cour" series, which means we’re getting around 24 episodes of non-stop mind games.
The story starts when Nao Kanzaki, a girl who is literally "too honest for her own good," receives a suitcase with 100 million yen and a note saying she’s a contestant in the Liar Game. The goal is simple: trick the other players out of their money. If you lose, you’re in massive debt to the organizers. To survive, Nao teams up with Shinichi Akiyama, a genius ex-con artist who just got out of prison. Together, they try to take down the mysterious LGT Organization from the inside.
