In the mid-21st century, Tokyo’s criminal underworld is controlled by Demon Lords: crime bosses who have undergone ether enhancement surgery, giving them terrifying super powers. The only ones able to defeat them are the Heroes, bounty hunters who amplify their own power with the drug E3 (E-Three). With murder legalized as part of their job, being a Hero is not just about justice and more about survival.
Yashiro, aka the Reaper, is one such Hero: a freelance enforcer working alone. That is, until Jougamine, a high school student and self-described "apprentice," burst into her life. After reluctantly accepting it, Yashiro soon finds himself caught in a whirlwind of deadly violence.
