The wait is finally over—the anime adaptation of The Klutzy Class Monitor and the Girl with the Short Skirt (Japanese title: Ponkotsu Fuuki Iin to Skirt-take ga Futekisetsu na JK no Hanashi) literally just premiered today! If you’ve been following the manga, it’s often called PonSuka for short. It’s being animated by Studio ZERO-G, the same team that did Grand Blue Dreaming, so the comedy timing should be spot on.
The story follows Tougo Sakuradaimon, a super strict school prefect who takes his job way too seriously. He’s constantly lecturing Poemu Kohinata, a "gyaru" student who refuses to follow the dress code—especially regarding her short skirt. But there’s a twist: Tougo acts like a perfect role model, but he’s actually a total "ponkotsu" (klutz/useless) when it comes to anything besides school rules, especially math. Poemu finds out his secret and they end up in a weirdly sweet relationship where they help each other out with their weaknesses.
